From the 1st of Jan 2008 EnviroServ Waste Management has become the owner of EnviroServ Tailings formerly Brollo Tailings, Tailcon Projects and Epoxerite. EnviroServ Tailings is a Construction Company having a number of clients in the mining sector. The company has four divisions namely Tailings, Earthworks, Civil work and Rehabilitation.

The tailings and rehabilitation division is headed up by Denzyl Pearse and has clients in Rustenburg and Lydenburg. Andre Coetzee servicing Aquarius Platinum, International Ferro Metals and Xstrata manages the Rustenburg area. During April 2008, EnviroServ Tailings was successful in adding two new contracts to this area namely Xstrata (Rhombus Vanadium) and Rhino Andolusite.  Bennie Lombard heads up the Lydenburg area, which also includes a Materials Handling Contract.

The operation of these facilities involves long term contracts where as a contractor EnviroServ Tailings is responsible to raise the dam by the mechanical construction of the walls, and lifting perimeter piping for the deposition of the tailings in a controlled manner.

Typically the facility is closely monitored for stability and compliance with operating procedures.  Once the walls have been lifted EnviroServ Tailings is involved with the rehabilitation of the side slopes.

EnviroServ Tailings’ rehabilitation service involves soil remediation, identification and planting of certain species of grasses and plants.

Through rehabilitation and the installation of our dust suppression system EnviroServ Tailings are able to assist many clients to limit the impact of dust on nearby communities.

The Earthworks and Civil divisions are headed up by Gary Wills.These divisions take on work relating to the construction of civil infrastructure required by mines and industry relating to Tailings and Waste management (Earthworks), and the construction and repair of concrete structures (Civil work).

Recently the Civil work division completed the construction of a Clarifier.  

This structural concrete structure was tricky, and was successfully constructed by Bruce Elsey and Grant Loch proving that EnviroServ Tailings has the skills to take on the difficult contracts.

In partnership with EnviroServ, the Tailings division are constructing Cell Five at Chloorkop, and installing a gas collection system on the same site.

EnviroServ Tailings has recently been awarded the capping contract for the Umlazi Waste Site 4 in Durban.

The company is also partnering with Conquip, where Conquip provides all the plant required for the construction.  During April this relationship with Conquip was instrumental in us obtaining the first materials handling contract for Acquarius (Everest Platinum) in Lydenburg.
